Short video from the Marcy K-8 Arts Partnership Fundraising Gala
May 29, 2009
Thanks, in large part, to the kindness and generosity of a large number of local artists who donated work, the fundraising gala for arts programs for the students at Marcy K-8 was a big success. During these uncertain economic times, it was heartening to see such an incredible collaborative effort from the Marcy staff, parents, and arts community.

Short Vid About Art-a-Whirl
May 23, 2009
Here is a short video that was shot at Art-a-Whirl. The nice folks at Freshtip stopped by on Sunday (the event ran Friday to Sunday) to shoot a bit in our studio. Note to self: “No matter how tired you are, try to smile when being interviewed.”

Actor, Darien Johnson
May 13, 2009
These shots are from a recent shoot of an actor named Darien Johnson. The shoot was for a profile article in Minnesota Magazine. We shot some portraits and some images of him doing his thing. Pretty amazing to see someone slide so easily into a Shakespearian monologue. There’s a good chance that you will be hearing this young talent’s name again!
Robert Bly
April 27, 2009
I shot a portrait of Minnesota poet Robert Bly recently. It was just before a reading he and Coleman Barks, gave during a creative/academic conference at the U of M celebrating Bly’s career. I enjoyed getting the opportunity to photograph him, and to hear both poets read their work. While perhaps best known for translating Persian poet, Rumi, Mr. Barks’ own poetry was really beautiful. His book “Winter Sky, New and Selected poems, 1968-2008” is on my list of books to pick up.
Beautiful Portrait
April 23, 2009
This portrait of Leonid Hurwicz, nobel prize winner for economics, is one of the most beautiful portraits that I have seen in a while. It was shot by Minneapolis photographer Raoul Benavides.
