June 06, 2011

If you are interested in photography and the natural world, the photo symposium on Saturday June 11th at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum is for you. The MLA always puts together great events and this one should be really fantastic. It features world-renowned conservation photographer Daniel Beltra (the shot of the polar bear is one of his).

Cool Photos Cool Music

January 06, 2011

Paring music with your still images or video can be tricky. You would hate to have something distract from the viewing experience, and not everyone will like your musical tastes. Everyone has probably entered a website and had some horrible music start blaring immediately. In the age of limited attention spans, and limited time, inevitably some folks will just click on to the next website instead of finding the mute button. I am a huge music fan, however, so I love it when I run across examples of music that work really well with the visuals. Here is collaboration between photographer Sara Jorde and musician Evan Murnane (of “We Valedictorians” and “Total Babe”). Cool photography, cool original music, really cool together.

Just got back from shooting in Salt Lake City and camping and shooting in the Moab area. It was a pleasure to work with Heidi O’Donoghue from “Your Path” yoga. Her skills, combined with the beauty of the landscape, produced some amazing images.
